This rich dark brown yarn comes directly from Colby, one of the alpacas raised and cared for right here on our farm. His beautiful color is completely natural—no dye needed.

The story of Colby’s yarn begins with an entire year of care. Quality nutrition, fresh air, exercise and daily attention all play a part as he grows the fleece that will eventually become this yarn.

Once a year, Colby is carefully sheared. We sort and prepare his fleece before sending it to a small fiber mill, where it is professionally cleaned, processed and spun into this beautiful DK weight yarn.

The finished yarn has that wonderful quality alpaca is known for—a soft, silky feel that seems to glide through your fingers as you knit or crochet. DK weight also makes it incredibly versatile, whether you’re creating a favorite hat, scarf, cowl, mittens, sweater or another special piece.

Alpaca fiber provides exceptional warmth without unnecessary bulk. It contains no lanolin and is considered hypoallergenic, making it a wonderful choice for many people with sensitive skin.
