About Us

Mary Burns   Owner

In 2004 my husband and I decided to jump in with both feet into the farming industry.  Neither one of us was raised on a farm, but both of us are animal lovers, with me stating at a very young age that I wanted to live on a farm. What I didn’t know was that it would be an alpaca farm.

People often ask what made us choose alpacas. I made a list of what would make a good livestock for us, keeping in mind we had two very young children at the time.  My list included the facts that my children had to be safe around them, they didn’t smell, didn’t make much noise, didn’t tear up my yard, were pretty to look at, and were a tax write-off.  Visiting a fair one day we came across the alpaca. It was love at first sight.

The biggest joys of this business are having had my children grow up living and learning the business.  They have had experiences many of their peers have not. My daughter even the opportunity to assist with a birth and then named the girl after her soccer team, well, the birth almost made her late for the game after all. The other biggest joy is in the people we meet. We take educating the public seriously. Bringing joy to people in both the experience of petting alpacas and in providing quality goods is what makes us special.

We are the only farm in our area that produces hand made items made of hand spun yarn or felted alpaca. Our products are of high quality and are one of a kind creations. We enjoy sharing our alpacas and products wit the public, so go ahead and click on a “Book your Appointment” button for a tour and shopping experience.  Hope to see you soon!
