Mystic’s yarn is truly something special—and the photo simply doesn’t do the color justice. His fleece is a rare, naturally beautiful rose gray with just the tiniest hint of purple that appears in the right light. It gives the yarn an incredible depth and character that is much more striking when you see it in person. No dyes or added colors—this beautiful variation comes entirely from Mystic’s fleece.
The story behind every skein begins right here on our farm. For an entire year, Mystic grows his fleece while receiving quality nutrition, fresh air, exercise and the daily care that goes into raising our alpacas.
Once a year, Mystic is carefully sheared. His fleece is sorted and prepared before being sent to a small fiber mill, where it is professionally cleaned, processed and spun into this beautiful bulky yarn.
The finished yarn is wonderfully soft, warm and silky, with that smooth alpaca feel that seems to glide through your fingers as you knit or crochet. The bulky weight works up beautifully for cozy projects such as hats, cowls, scarves, mittens and other cold-weather pieces.
Alpaca fiber is exceptionally warm without feeling overly heavy. It contains no lanolin and is considered hypoallergenic, making it a wonderful choice for many people with sensitive skin. Its softness makes it especially lovely for those special pieces you’ll want to wear close to your skin.
