This beautiful bulky yarn combines the naturally rich colors of Famous and Sidney, two alpacas raised and cared for right here on our farm. Famous contributes his warm fawn fiber, while Sidney adds his deep black, creating a yarn with natural depth and character—no dye needed.

The story of this yarn begins long before shearing day. For an entire year, we care for Famous and Sidney with quality nutrition, fresh air, exercise and plenty of attention as they grow their beautiful fleeces.

Once a year, they are carefully sheared. Their fiber is then sorted and prepared before being sent to a small fiber mill, where it is professionally cleaned, processed and spun into the finished yarn.

As a bulky weight yarn, Famous & Sidney is perfect when you want something wonderfully soft, warm and substantial. Alpaca has a naturally silky feel that glides through your fingers as you knit or crochet, making the process of creating almost as enjoyable as wearing the finished piece.

Alpaca is exceptionally warm without the scratchiness often associated with traditional wool. It contains no lanolin and is considered hypoallergenic, making it a wonderful fiber for many people with sensitive skin. Its softness makes it perfect for cozy pieces worn close to the body, including hats, cowls, scarves, mittens and other cold-weather favorites.
