Oakmont Carnegie Library “From Pasture to Product: 21 Years of Alpaca Farming”

September 22, 2025 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us for an engaging and inspiring presentation as we explore the 21-year journey of transforming a humble alpaca farm into a thriving fiber-focused operation. Learn about the fascinating process of raising alpacas and turning their luxurious fleece into beautiful, high-quality products.

This behind-the-scenes look at sustainable fiber farming will walk you through everything from breeding and shearing to fiber processing and handcrafted product creation. You’ll hear how the farm has grown through years of dedication, creativity, and a deep respect for these amazing animals and the land.

Whether you’re curious about alpacas, fiber arts, or what it takes to run a successful farm business, this presentation offers something for everyone.

🧶 A variety of farm-made alpaca items—such as cozy socks, ultra-soft yarn, and charming stuffed animals—will also be on display, and available for purchase during the event.

📍 Free and open to the public!
